retain "Lord" when referring to the Lord Jesus Christ, if that is part of who he is for you (although some churches prefer Redeemer, Comforter, Friend, Christ). However, when referring to the Godhead (not the person of Christ), "Lord" can be replaced with Advocate, Almighty/the Almighty, Author, Being, Creator, Creator of all things, Defender, the Deity, Divine Light, the Eternal, Eternal One, Ever-present God, First Cause, Friend, God, Godhead, God my Rock, God my Rock and my Redeemer, God of Abraham and Sarah, God of Grace, God of Heaven, God of Hosts, God of Israel, God of our ancestors/forebears, God of the Nations, Good Parent, Guide, Heavenly Creator, Heavenly Parent, Holy One/the Holy One, Holy One of Israel, the Infinite, Just One, Liberator, Living God, Maker, Merciful God, Mighty One, Most High/the Most High, Most Loving God, Nurturer, O God my God, O Gracious God, Omnipotent One, our Refuge and our Strength, Powerful One, Preserver, Providence, Redeemer, Rock, Rock of Refuge, Ruler, Savior, Shepherd, Shepherd of Israel, Source/the Source, Source of Life, Sovereign, Spirit, Supreme Being, Sustainer, Wisdom.
