Xmas

this term is "etymologically innocent of the charge that it omits Christ from Christmas" (the American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language) because the "X" represent the Greek chi, or the first letter of Christ's name. It's been used as shorthand for Christ in religious writings for centuries. However, it is currently in disfavor with many Christians. Know your audience if you use it.
