social titles

use the titles people use for themselves. If you don't know, ask. Omitting honorifics before a name is acceptable and has the advantage of clarity and brevity. Even in letterwriting, you can use "To: Yuki Shibata" or "Dear Shawn Clayton." In work situations, "Ms." is generally acceptable for women. See also Esq./Esquire, Miss, Mrs., Ms., salutations.
