Muslim

never use "Moslem," which is an unacceptable Westernized corruption. "Muslim" is both adjective and noun, referring to a follower of Islam or modifying anything of or pertaining to Islam. Never use "Mohammadan" or "Mohammedanism" since they imply worship of the prophet Muhammad, considered by Muslims to be a blasphemy against the absolute oneness of God. When writing about Muslims, avoid generalizations: "I -- like a billion and a half other Muslims must be -- am tired of having to explain the actions of extremists as if they're associates" (Ahmed Tharwat, www.ahmediatv.com).
