the implication here is that all men are strong, competent, brave, and otherwise quasi-heroic, and you are not. What a burden for a man! What an impossible dream for a woman! When you mean "get a grip" or "get with the program," say so. Or, like radio broadcaster Jason Middleton, use the vague but inclusive leather up.
