WMC Unspinning the Spin

white (adj.)

avoid the metaphorical use of "white" to symbolize purity, goodness, rightness (the opposite of all this being, of course, black). Replace phrases like "that's white of you" ("that's good of you") and "white lie" ("social/innocent lie"), and circumvent others like "white knight," "white hope," and "whitewash." See also black/black-, Caucasian, white (n., referring to people), white privilege.
