someone who has (a condition), someone with (a condition). In referring to people with disabilities, avoid all forms of the afflicted with/suffers from/victim of construction. Use instead, for example, has diabetes, has multiple sclerosis, lives with Parkinson's. See also disabilities, handicapped.
