WMC Unspinning the Spin

overweight

this term implies that there is an objective, standard, "normal" weight for each person. It is also unhelpfully vague (a person could be from two to 200 pounds "overweight"). Most members of the National Association for the Advancement of Fat Acceptance dispute the term; they prefer "fat." Question the relevance of including "overweight" or rephrase your material in more meaningful terms ("He weighs more than he wants to"). See also body image, fat, looksism.
