henpeck/henpecked

she henpecks; he is henpecked. When men have a problem, they are said to protest, object, grumble, raise a fuss, grouse, beef, criticize, censure, deplore, disapprove, chew out, remind, take action, give a piece of their mind. Use those terms for women too. Calling a man "henpecked" is also disparaging to him; consider: bossed around, bullied, browbeaten, passive, submissive, dominated, subjugated, under someone's thumb, led by the nose, at one's beck and call, ruled with an iron hand. See also castrate/castrating (metaphor), nag (v.), unman.
