Bushman
San, Khwe, and other cultures are covered by this term. Use the name with which a people self-identifies. Library cataloger Sanford Berman says that Africanists, anthropologists, and other educated people avoid the racist, sexist, Eurocentric, and inauthentic "Bushman/Bushmen," (which comes from a Dutch translation of the Malay for "orangutan"). Berman cautions using the ethnocentric and racist native/natives or tribe/tribes; they are peoples.
