birth defect

congenital disability. Or, for a person: someone with/born with/living with a congenital disability, someone disabled since birth, a disability that has existed since birth. Many find the term "birth defect" or "defect" to be offensive; name the specific disability if possible and relevant. References to "abnormalities” are unacceptable except in a clinical context. Note that "congenital" is not interchangeable with "genetic," as not all congenital disabilities are genetic. See also deformed/deformity, disabilities.
