Bio:
Kishalay Bhattacharjee has worked in broadcast television for 20 years, 17 of which he spent at New Delhi Television (NDTV), as a resident editor, covering conflict in India’s northeast and Maoist corridor. He also works as a columnist and speaker on conflict and post-conflict situations in India. He has won several awards for his journalism. In April 2013, his book, “Che in Paona Bazar” was published by Pan Macmillan.

Despite the outrage at violence against women that spread through India this past year, thousands of women and children continue to be victims of rape, trafficking, and other forms of sexualized violence. The stories of these women and children go unreported and are largely ignored by global campaigns against violence. But one of the worst and most brutal cases has been that of Soni Sori.
