Alisa Nudar

Bio:

Alisa Nudar is an undergraduate researcher and reproductive health advocate based in New York City. Studying Public Health with minors in Public Policy and Anthropology at Hunter College, she examines health systems, policy, and women’s health through the lens of medical anthropology and women’s studies. Her research focuses on crisis pregnancy centers, testosterone replacement therapy, abortion doulas, and maternal and infant health. She currently has active research projects at Hunter College, Smith College, Stanford University, and Tulane University.

Alisa is a practicing abortion doula with New York Abortion Doulas and a contributor and editor at Ms. Magazine, where her work engages reproductive justice from both research and advocacy perspectives.

Her advocacy extends beyond the page. She serves as a community leader for Cat Calls of NYC, a street-based initiative that uses chalk art to combat street harassment. She founded and led PERIOD @ Queens NY, organizing period drives for menstrual equity, and partnered with PERIOD Law to gather student testimonies and help push for period product policies implementation across New York City schools.
