The report from ReFrame shows a decrease in the total number of women directing top films, and its authors warn that things could get worse for women in the film business in the coming years.

As a field that helps college students “rigorously interrogate, critically think, and creatively imagine a more just world,” women’s studies has been targeted by both the Trump administration and state legislatures. But scholars, faculty, staff, and others are fighting back.

Research by the National Women’s Defense League, covering both Congress and state legislatures, shows that these “abuses of power are impacting who serves and how effective and focused they can be.”

Trump policies and recent legislation have reduced access to aid at a time of rising food prices.
