Saeedeh Fathi
Bio:
Saeedeh Fathi is a journalist with 23 years of professional experience, having worked with various media outlets including television, radio, and news agencies. She is currently working as a freelance journalist based in Austria and collaborates with media organizations such as BBC Persian, The New Arab, Al Jazeera English, Die Standard newspaper, and Der Prse newspaper in Austria, as well as other international media outlets.
In 2022, Fathi was arrested and imprisoned for her journalistic activities and support for Iranian women. In the same year, she received the Press Freedom Award from the International Sports Press Association (AIPS).
Since the U.S. and Israel launched their joint assault on the Islamic Republic of Iran, feminist voices in the “Zan, Zendegi, Azadi” movement (or the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement) have been diverse, with contradictory and dispersed reactions to war, foreign intervention, and even the future of the movement itself.
