Bio:
Kristal Brent Zook, Ph.D., is a professor of journalism and director of the M.A. Journalism Program at Hofstra University on Long Island. She is an award-winning journalist whose work has appeared in publications such as The Washington Post, The New York Times Sunday Magazine, Essence, and many other outlets. She has also offered commentary and analysis for radio and TV networks like NPR, CNN, MSNBC, MTV, BET and TV ONE.
