Giacomo Zandonini
Bio:
Giacomo Zandonini is an Italian-Swiss freelance journalist and reporter based in Rome. His work focuses on human rights and cultural expression of refugees and migrants arriving in Europe and on North African politics and society. He contributes to the newspaper La Repubblica, Vatican Radio, and different Italian magazines and press agencies. Prior to being a full-time journalist, he worked as a refugee consultant for an NGO.
I’d been working on a short radio story for the July 30 UN World Day Against Trafficking in Persons when I realized that the fight against human trafficking in my country, Italy, has become a disaster.
