Dr. Elizabeth Reed
Bio:
Dr. Elizabeth Reed is a professor of global health at San Diego State University. Trained in social epidemiology, her work focuses on preventing partner and sexual violence as well as addressing related adverse health outcomes among women and girls. She has authored more than 100 publications in this area, with much of her work focused on young populations. She has also led the design, implementation, and rigorous evaluation of community-based interventions that address gender inequity and promote health, safety, and well-being among diverse populations globally.
From universities and law enforcement to prevention research, we keep treating men’s violence as an individual problem rather than confronting the social norms and systems that sustain it.
