Afua Hirsch is the Accra-based West Africa correspondent for The Guardian newspaper. Before becoming a foreign correspondent, she practised as a barrister and then reported as legal correspondent, covering international law, justice, and human rights. She also frequently publishes commentaries on a diverse range of subjects, appears regularly in radio and TV broadcasts, and speaks widely on the media, diversity, and justice.
