Ruth Rosen is a pioneering historian of gender and society, who taught the first courses in this field at Berkeley in the early 1970s. She is Professor Emerita of History at the University of California at Davis, where she taught American history, women’s history, history and public policy, and immigration studies for over two decades. Nichole M. Bauer is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Alabama. She studies the challenges facing women in politics as candidate, lawmakers, and voters. Her current research investigates how and when voters rely on gender stereotypes to evaluate female candidates. Donna R. Hoffman is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Northern Iowa. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma, where her research focused on partisan changes in the American electorate.
