Raquel Reichard

Raquel Reichard is an award-winning journalist, editor, author, producer and speaker based in Orlando, Fla. Raquel tells stories about Latine culture, music and body politics, exploring themes of bodily autonomy, colonialism, diasporic belonging and wellness. A leading voice in Latine media, she is currently the Deputy Director of Somos, Refinery29's channel by and for Latines. Her first book, Self-Care for Latinas, was published in December 2023. Currently, she's writing her second book, tentatively titled Best Friends Forever, about friendgrief. A proud Nuyoflorican, Raquel was born in Far Rockaway, Queens, New York, spent her early childhood in her parents' enchanting homeland of Puerto Rico and was raised in Orlando, Fla.
