Bio:
Heidi Hartmann, an economist and MacArthur Fellow, co-authored two reports released by the Institute for Women’s Policy Research in October, 2011, on the effects of the recession on women and men, Women and Men Living on the Edge: Economic Insecurity After the Great Recession and Retirement on the Edge:, Women, Men, and Economic Insecurity After the Great Recession. The reports present the findings from a survey of 2,700 Americans fielded in September-November 2010. The survey research was funded by the Rockefeller Foundation. Hartmann is president and founder of the Institute for Women’s Policy Research (http://www.iwpr.org/) in Washington, D.C.
