Elvine Ouma
Bio:
Elvine Tina Ouma is a journalist passionate about advancing gender equality, sexual and reproductive health rights and social justice.
Each story she writes is intended to amplify the diverse voices of girls and women, ensuring inclusivity and objectivity. She's dedicated to capturing the often underrepresented perspectives of Persons With Disabilities, Indigenous women, and other marginalized voices.
Two high-profile murders were among at least 21 femicides across Kenya in January, but amid the nation’s shock and outrage, media, members of the public, and even parliamentarians (including women) excused the murders by maligning the women as “slay queens” putting themselves in harm’s way for social media clout.
