Chandra Childers
Chandra Childers is a Senior Policy and Economic Analyst with the Economic Analysis and Research Network (EARN) at EPI. The EARN network includes almost 60 state and local research, policy, and advocacy groups in 45 states along with their grassroot and labor partners. Chandra’s work prioritizes the EARN in the South network which provides research and technical support to EARN communities across 14 Southern states.
Her work seeks to advance pro-worker, economic, racial, and gender justice policies across the South and the nation. This includes the extensive data and analysis in the Rooted in Racism project which defines the exploitative Southern Economic Development Strategy and more targeted research to support the organizing efforts worker’s fighting for higher wages and better working conditions. To make sure the research and data tools that she and her team have developed to support the work of advocates and allies across the South reach the broadest audience possible, she regularly gives interviews, joins research panels, and does presentations both virtually and in-person.
