Oscars: A record year for women, but is it progress?

The gender divide becomes clearer when comparing the number of women nominated to their male counterparts. The Women’s Media Center reported earlier this month that over 75 percent of the nominees this year were men.

In the ‘Year of the Woman,’ Many Were Missing From International Reporting

Journalism remains dominated by male reporters and their male sources. A studypublished recently by the Women’s Media Center found that in 2017, 63 percent of bylines and TV credits were those of men.
