Tanya served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Dorothy Wright Nelson on the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. She was a Bristow Fellow in the Office of the Solicitor General, where she drafted Supreme Court briefs and helped prepare the Solicitor General and other attorneys for oral arguments, including those before the High Court. June brings the 50th anniversary of Mississippi's Freedom Summer. We FEATURE Mississippi native and speaker at the Mississippi Freedom Summer 50th Anniversary Conference Oleta Garrett Fitzgerald. She is the Director of the Children's Defense Fund's Southern Regional Office and also serves as the Regional Administrator for the Southern Rural Black Women's Initiative for Economic & Social Justice (SRBWI). SRBWI operates in 77 counties across the Black Belts of Alabama, Southwest Georgia and Delta Mississippi.
