Rebecca is a Cherokee economist, leader, activist, and ground-breaking indigenous woman. She is the founder and president of First Peoples Worldwide, the first US-based global Indigenous Peoples NGO. She holds a distinct perspective on how indigenous people’s values and economic systems can transform the business models of today. Ms. Adamson was the first Native American to serve on the board of Calvert Investment Funds, one of the largest socially responsible investment management companies in the United States. With news that a gunman has attacked a pizza restaurant in Washington, DC, due to a fake news story (known as Pizzagate) about Hillary Clinton running running a child sex ring there, we FEATURE Soraya Chemaly. Soraya is a writer and activist whose work focuses on the role of gender in culture, politics, religion and media. She is the Director of the Women's Media Center Speech Project and organizer of the Safety and Free Speech Coalition, both of which are involved in curbing online abuse, media and tech diversity, and expanding women's freedom of expression. She writes and speaks regularly about gender, media, tech, education, women's rights, sexual violence and free speech. Italy's Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi, is expected to resign after a referendum has failed to pass-- a move that may be showing signs of a rising far-right group in Italy. In addition to that, Austrian voters have rejected far-right candidate Norbert Hofer for the upcoming election. To discuss these upcoming European elections, we FEATURE Kristina Wilfore. Kristina has over 20 years’ experience in campaigns and elections, policy development and civic advocacy in the United States and currently serves as the principal of Karakoyun Strategies, an international development firm based in Istanbul. She helps teach grassroots organizing, political party development, and how to run and win campaigns all across the region.
