Bio
Dr. Glenn is a practicing addiction, emergency, and emergency medical services (EMS) physician and associate professor at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, where she also serves as the Associate Program Director for the Addiction Medicine Fellowship and the medical director of several rural fire departments along the US-Mexico border. Her academic research focuses on addiction treatment in acute care settings, and has been published in CHEST, Resuscitation, The Annals of Emergency Medicine, Prehospital Emergency Care. She is also an author with a MFA in creative writing from Mills College whose work has been supported by the deGroot Foundation, the Arizona Commission on the Arts, and the Tin House Summer Workshop. Her first book, Mother of Methadone, is a hybrid memoir/biography (creative nonfiction) published by Beacon Press in 2025. Her literary work can be found or are forthcoming in River Teeth, Salon, Time, the Arizona Republic, and The Believer.
