With the recent increase in Taliban attacks in Afghanistan, we FEATURE Kyleanne Hunter. Hunter, a former marine, is a Sie Center for International Security and Diplomacy Research Fellow and PhD Student at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver. Her research focuses on the role of women in anti-government movements, and their ability to create new political and social roles in the post-conflict governments. In addition to her academic work, Kyleanne has worked with Mountain2Mountain as an in-field consultant with the Afghan Women’s National Cycling Team. She has served as both a mechanic and coach in Afghanistan, helping the grass-roots team to achieve international recognition.
