Suzanne Braun Levine was the first editor of Ms. magazine (1972-1988), and the first woman to edit the Columbia Journalism Review (1989-1998)

While at Ms., Levine developed and produced the Peabody-Award winning HBO special “She’s Nobody’s Baby: A History of American Women in the 20th Century.” She was honored as a “Ms. Woman of the Year” in 2004.

She has written four books - INVENTING THE REST OF OUR LIVES: Women in Second Adulthood, FIFTY IS THE NEW FIFTY, HOW WE LOVE NOW: Sex and the New Intimacy in Second Adulthood and YOU GOTTA HAVE GIRLFRIENDS (an ebook) – about a new stage of life for women.

She is also author of Father Courage: What Happens When Men Put Family First, Bella Abzug an oral history (with Mary Thom) and the ebook Can Men Have It All?

Levine has given a TEDx talk and appeared on national interview shows, including Oprah. She is on the Boards of Encore.org, a nonprofit think tank on boomers, work and social purpose and The Ms. Foundation for Education and Communication, a judge of the AARP “Purpose Prize,” and on the Advisory Board of NextTribe.com, an online magazine for women over 50.

In 2016, she co-founded the Milford (PA) Readers and Writers Festival, an annual weekend of conversations between a line-up of prize-winning writers and their readers.
