-A new book coming out in August, with co-author, Dr. Rosalind Barnett of Brandeis University: "The Age of Longevity: Reimagining the Future For Our New Long Lives." It will be published in August by Rowman and Littlefield.

-Selling Anxiety: How the News Media Scare Women. University Press of New England.

-Other research-based books about gender, families and work with Dr. Barnett: Same Difference, (Basic) The Truth about Girls and Boys (Columbia) She Works, He Works (Harper Collins) Lifeprints (McGraw-Hill). The Sloan Foundation cited Lifeprints as a "classic book" from the work-family canon that has made "a significant contribution and stood the test of time." The book (about women’s lives) was funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation.

-In 2007, awarded the Helen Thomas Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society of Professional Journalists. She is the author of four novels and ten works of non-fiction, all critically acclaimed. Her books have been selections of the Book of the Month Club, Literary Guild, Doubleday Book Club and Troll Book club.

-Awards: Goldsmith Research Grant, from the Shorenstein Center at the JFK School of Government, Harvard University, for research on gender and media issue.; Casey medal for distinguished journalism about children and families; special citation from the National Education Writers association. Gannett Freedom Forum grant, for research on gender and media.
