Jeanine Aguirre-Ramírez

Bio:

Jeanine Ramírez is an award-winning journalist, media consultant and podcast co-host. She provided news coverage as an anchor and reporter in New York City for more than two decades. After television jobs at WPIX-TV and KWES-TV, Ramírez spent much of her career at NY1 News. She covered the aftermath of September 11th, the devastation caused by Superstorm Sandy, the controversial construction of Barclays Center and the renaissance of Coney Island. She was a weekend anchor and the lead reporter on many Brooklyn-based and Latino issues. Ramírez traveled to the Caribbean to file a special series of reports from Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.

In 2002, Ramírez had the honor of marching as one of the Grand Marshals in the National Puerto Rican Day Parade up Fifth Avenue. She was listed among the most powerful 100 people in Brooklyn by City & State in both 2019 and 2020. Ramírez also received numerous recognitions for her work, including 5 Emmy nominations and awards from the National Hispanic Media Coalition, New York Press Club, El Diario/La Prensa as well as honors from elected officials, schools, organized labor and community groups.

A native Brooklynite, Ramírez majored in communications both at Brooklyn Technical High School, where she was a member of ASPIRA and at Fordham University, where she was the founder and captain of the school's dance team.

Ramírez is a proud member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and was the co-host of a syndicated TV show called “Colores del Barrio” during her time in Texas.

In 2021, Ramírez founded a media consulting company in NYC. She co-hosts “The 5 Of Us” podcast and is working on a book project.
