Ashley D. Farmer

Bio:

Ashley D. Farmer is a professor, writer, and historian. As an expert in African American women’s history, she is a sought-after voice in national conversations about race and social justice and has contributed to numerous media outlets including NPR, The History Channel, and The New York Times. Her recent book, Remaking Black Power: How Black Women Transformed an Era, was shortlisted for multiple awards and is included on numerous “must read” lists. She has written for and appeared on such outlets as The Washington Post, The Independent, The Conversation, and Al Jazeera. She lives in Austin, Texas, and tweets from @drashleyfarmer.
