Bio

Ysa lived through the aftermath of a dictatorship in Chile, which inspired her dedication to politics, education, communications, and organizing. She is passionate about curating spaces of accessible political education and leadership development for indigenous, queer, and working-class people.

Ysa is a political scientist, sociologist, and anthropologist focused on public policy and interdisciplinary women's and gender studies. She is also a former teacher, popular educator, organizer, and the director of Latinx constituency for Florida Rising, a statewide voting rights and grassroots organizing group in Florida working to build power in Black and brown communities. Previously she worked at Access Network, the only statewide abortion fund in Florida and the National Network of Abortion Funds.

Ysa was born and raised in the Global South, surrounded by women's defiance, resilience, and leadership, which drives her to be a fierce advocate for the liberation of us all. She dreams and works to build an accessible, safe, and sustainable world for every body.
