Vinca LaFleur is a Partner at West Wing Writers, an executive speechwriting firm based in Washington, D.C. Her more than fifteen years of speechwriting, ghostwriting, and editing experience include three years on the National Security Council staff as Director for Speechwriting and Special Assistant to President Bill Clinton. In that capacity, she authored more than 100 speeches and public statements for the president and his national security advisors, and accompanied the president on official travel to Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia, and the Middle East.
Prior to joining the White House staff, LaFleur served as a speechwriter for Secretary of State Warren Christopher. She also worked on Capitol Hill as a political and human rights analyst at the U.S. Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe.
Her clients in the United States and abroad have included Fortune 100 executives, former senior government officials, royalty, and prominent public figures. Her work for clients has appeared in numerous publications including the Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, and Foreign Affairs. Her own bylined work has covered issues from global poverty to politics to popular culture.
In addition to her work at West Wing Writers, LaFleur is a Visiting Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, DC. A member of the Council on Foreign Relations, she has served since 2004 as rapporteur for the annual Brookings-Blum Roundtable on Global Poverty.
Vinca LaFleur is a summa cum laude graduate of Yale University. She holds a Masters in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.
