In addition to being an award-wining specialty veterinarian specializing in Avian and Exotics, Dr. Teresa L. Lightfoot is a highly sought after world-wide lecturer and guest speaker. Dr. Lightfoot is a published author and researcher who is often called upon to act as an expert witness for the State of Florida.
Dr. Lightfoot currently serves as the Vice President of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners as well as a Regent in Avian Practice. She has been named “Practitioner of the Year”, “Speaker of the Year” and “Veterinarian of the Year” six times, by six different groups and affiliations, one of which is the State of Florida.
Dr. Lightfoot’s patients are avian (birds) and exotic species including psittacines, ferrets, iguanas, tortoises, hedgehogs, chinchillas, snakes, rabbits, sugar gliders, guinea pigs, and prairie dogs, to name a few.
