Bio

Sabrina Cartan is a fan activist, writer, and digital strategist who frequently writes, speaks, and consults on mobilizing online fan communities for social justice and civic causes. Cartan is the Director of Digital Strategy at Potomac Productions, where she works with iconic actor, singer, and activist Lynda Carter and her brand. Together, they have created innovative ways to mobilize Ms. Carter’s fans on issues such as women’s rights, LGBTQ+ equality, ending voter suppression, climate justice, and anti-racist advocacy in the United States. Cartan's work on the intersection of fandom and politics has been published in the Journal of Transformative Works and Cultures. Her work as a designer for the climate justice advocacy group Clean Creatives was featured at the 2022 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. She currently serves as Co-President of the Board of Directors at Fandom Forward (The Harry Potter Alliance), an international nonprofit organization that pioneered fan activism as we know it today. Cartan previously served on the Associate Board of The LAMP, a media literacy nonprofit based in New York City. In 2016 and 2017, she led two award-winning grant campaigns on behalf of Uplift: Online Communities Against Sexual Violence.
