Patricia DeGennaro

Patricia (Tricia) DeGennaro is a Strategic Geopolitical Analyst and Political Military Consultant. Her most recent positions include being Foreign Affairs Analyst for the Joint Chief of the National Guard Bureau, a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Balkans Next research initiative at Joint Special Operations University (JSOU) and a Senior Strategic Communications consultant for the United States Special Operations Command, the Central Command and the Indo-Pacific Command.

Since the events on 11 September 2001, she has been a Subject Matter Expert on the Middle East for the U.S. Central Command and the U.S. Army’s Training and Doctrine. Previously, she was Professor at New York University’s Department of International Affairs, and a Senior Fellow at the World Policy Institute.

Patricia capitalizes on over twenty years of experience as an academic, military cultural and political advisor and practitioner in international security policy. Much of her work focuses on geopolitical analysis, strategic communications, countering terrorism and violent extremism, and transitioning nations from war. She has spent considerable time with the European, Indo-Pacific, Central and Special Operation U.S, Commands.

Patricia is an expert Media Analyst & Commentator trained by Women’s Media Center. She provides expertise and insight on geopolitical, international security, and U.S. foreign and military policies. She is a featured US foreign policy expert on national, global TV networks and radio programs, inclusive of CNN, MSNBC, Al Jazeera, RT TV, Fox News, BBC, NPT, and BBC World Service, for insight on issues encompassing U.S. Foreign Operations and Policy. She has published articles on foreign affairs and international security in the World Policy Journal, Small Wars Journal, New York Times, Newsweek, Huffington Post, and a variety of other syndicated media platforms.

DeGennaro holds an MBA in International Trade and Finance from George Washington University and an MA in International Security Policy and Conflict Resolution from Harvard University. She speaks fluent Albanian and knowledge of Italian, Arabic and Dari.
