My vocation is advancing the status of women and girls around the world. As the Executive Director of the Public Leadership Education Network, board member of Running Start and Adjunct Professor at American University, I have developed an extensive background in training young women to launch their careers in public policy and politics. I am currently writing my first book about young women's political leadership for Edwin Mellen Press. I coordinated an Expert Group Meeting on gender strategy at the United Nations. During my Congressional fellowship, I proposed the idea of a resolution about rape in the DRC, which was successfully passed by the House of Representatives (H Res 1227 110th).
