Michelle Goldberg is the author of the New York Times bestseller "Kingdom Coming: The Rise of Christian Nationalism," a book about the Christian right in American politics. Publishers Weekly described the book as "an impressive piece of lucid journalism [that] dives into the religious right and sorts out the history and networks of what to most liberals is an inscrutable parallel universe." Until recently, she was a senior writer for Salon.com, where she remains a regular contributor. She has reported from India, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt, Israel and the West Bank, and her work has appeared in Rolling Stone, the UK Guardian, The New York Observer, Newsday and many other newspapers nationwide. She's in the early stages of researching a book about the global battle over reproductive rights. Goldberg is a member of the advisory board of the Campaign to Defend the Constitution and a fellow at the Committee for the Scientific Examination of Religion.
Goldberg has a B.A. from SUNY at Buffalo and a master's degree in journalism from Berkeley. She has appeared on CNN and on Fresh Air with Terry Gross, as well as on dozens of other radio programs. She's been quoted on the religious right by the BBC, The New York Times, Haaretz, The Toronto Globe and Mail and many other publications. She lives in Brooklyn, NY with her husband.
