Melissa Fowler is the Chief Program Officer at the National Abortion Federation, the professional association of abortion providers. In this role, she provides leadership for the organization’s membership services—including NAF’s Security Department; communications; and fundraising and development portfolio. Melissa is deeply committed to NAF’s members and was instrumental in changing the organization’s mission to be member-focused in 2019.Melissa has devoted her professional career to serving abortion providers and advocating for women's health care. Prior to joining NAF in 2006, Melissa worked in direct services as a patient advocate for a NAF member Planned Parenthood surgical center in Dallas and later in nonprofit communications. Melissa earned a B.S. in Journalism from Texas A&M University and a Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate from Georgetown University. She previously served on the Board of Nursing Students for Sexual & Reproductive Health.
