Bio

Loren serves as the Co-Director of Prevention & Education at Vera House, Inc., a comprehensive, not-for-profit domestic and sexual violence agency in Syracuse, NY. Loren has worked in the domestic and sexual violence field for over 25 years, and has extensive experience empowering people impacted by domestic & sexual violence, advocating for systems-level change, providing consultation and training to diverse audiences, and building effective primary prevention programs. Loren is passionate about shifting cultural norms to prevent violence, promoting gender equity, and forging strategic partnerships for prevention.

Loren previously served as the Coordinator of the Syracuse Area Domestic & Sexual Violence Coalition and as Vera House’s Director of Community Engagement & Prevention Strategy. Loren developed the organization’s prevention, education and training services into a comprehensive, multi-faceted program garnering recognition at the local, state and national levels.

Loren has appeared regularly on Central New York television programs and has been featured in numerous newspaper articles and radio interviews.

Loren holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and earned a BA in Psychology, with minors in French and Women’s Studies, from Lehigh University.
