Lily Maley is CMO of ShopLOCAP and Founding Mama of Mama Bear Digital.
My name is Lily Maley; I was CMO and Head of Brand at Visme, a cloud-based design software with 2+ Million active users. I became a single mother in the middle of college and to provide for my family while finishing my degree, I began freelancing with my skills in design and HTML/CSS. I managed to graduate, on-time, Magna Cum Laude while working full-time and being a single mom to an infant. I went from broke, in 35k medical debt (from having a baby pre-ACA), and living on ramen to running global brand for a multibillion-dollar company in five years and a Forbes 30 Under 30 nominee. It comes down to drive from being a single mom, self-taught design, code, and brand strategy, a whole lot of reading, and learning from the best, plus a lot of fire in my belly. At only 29, I recently landed a real "dream job" at a company I've loved and seen the wide potential of for years. I enjoy doing pro-bono websites for nonprofit organizations and I also have started an organization called Girls Do Digital, a series of free courses to help women break into tech through teaching them design, code, digital marketing, and entrepreneurship. I'm an experienced speaker and writer in the fields of brand management and strategy, self-development, women's leadership, managing an international and global team, and female empowerment. I'm now married with three children and live in the DC area. Also of note, I grew up largely overseas since my parents are both National Geographic and we grew up on assignment, mostly in the Middle East. My mother is possibly the most inspirational person I've ever known, a prolific speaker (Keynotes at Adobe Max and TEDx), and a formative force in my belief in myself to overcome obstacles. I also have severe ADHD that I find both a source of some of my greatest creativity as well as something that I have to fight.
Have worked with a speaking coach and completed on-camera training.
