Bio

As a content specialist and culture writer based out of Washington, D.C., writing is the cornerstone of my career. I have diverse writing experience, having held positions at Nairobi-based lifestyle magazine, legal opinion publications, non-profits, and technology companies. In my career, I perfected a natural talent for tailoring content for target audiences. At the same time, I've built a robust career as a culture writer, writing pieces that utilize my third culture perspective to offer compelling and fresh commentary on a myriad of social topics, including but not limited to diabetic health, blackness in America, women's rights in Sub-Saharan Africa, and love and relationships. My pieces have been published in a wide array of publications, including but not limited to The Washington Informer, Zora (a Medium publication), and Rewire (a subsidiary of PBS). I've written music and theatre reviews, opinion pieces, features and interviews. I've also parlayed my content creation into audio and visual mediums, helping creative media companies in the area build websites, start podcasts, and YouTube shows. My unique experience, both as a marketing/communications specialist and a culture writer, has given me the tools and experience to thrive in the complex and ever-changing media industry.
