Jeannine Melly, M.P.H., is Deputy Director of the Social Work Leadership Institute at The New York Academy of Medicine. The Social Work Leadership Institute is a national program working to ensure that America\'s older adults receive the care they need to stay in charge of their lives- and that caregivers also get the support they deserve.

Prior to SWLI, Melly worked with NYAM’s Division of Health Policy, following a career in social work, program development and fund raising. She worked for 13 years with a non-profit in New Jersey developing and running housing programs for people living with HIV. Mely has also provided direct services to inmates, the homeless and women with substance use difficulties.

Melly is a volunteer with ALS in New York City and chair of the HIV Law Project Board of Directors. She is a former member of the New Jersey Women and AIDS Network\'s Board of Directors.

She has a Masters degree in Public Health from the Hunter College School in Urban Public Health and a Bachelors degree in Social Work from Livingston College, Rutgers University.
