I am a veteran writer, speaker, author and event planner with expertise in the home design and dog arenas.

As editor-in-chief of Kitchen & Bath Design News, the kitchen and bath industry’s leading trade magazine, I provided editorial direction and content for the magazine for 26+ years, writing articles, speaking at trade shows, serving on trends panels, judging design competitions, both here and abroad, and hosting satellite media tours with upwards of nine million viewers. I’ve been featured as a home design expert on CNN, and have been quoted everywhere from Forbes, The Wall Street Journal and USA Today to the NY Times, U.S. News & World Report and HGTV.com. A Cornell graduate, I am also the author of Grand Master Baths and co-author of Everything and the Kitchen Sink: Remodel Your Kitchen Without Losing Your Mind, and I recently launched KB Designers Network, an exclusive online community for kitchen and bath design professionals.

When I’m not immersed in the design world, I am passionate about dogs; I launched my dog vacation business, Canine Camp Getaway, in 2009, and have been planning dog events ever since. From organizing fundraiser events for dogs with Degenerative Myelopathy to running games and entertainment for the North America Dock Diving National Championship Meet and Greet Party for 500+ guests to hosting two annual camps for 150+ dogs and their owners, I love creating unique events that appeal to dogs and their people, and I compete in a variety of dog sports (my oldest dog Lexie is a two-time National Dock Diving Champion). I am an AKC evaluator for the Canine Good Citizen and Community Canine tests, a certified Canine CPR instructor, a Therapy Dog evaluator and a member of the Canine Stars traveling stunt dog show, which performs throughout North America. I’ve written articles about all things dog-related for The Bark, FIDO Friendly and AKC Family Dog, among others, and my dogs and I have been featured on the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric, Animal Planet, Pet Talk and in a wide variety of publications from Smart Money Magazine and Every Day With Rachel Ray to AOL’s Paw Nation, American Lifestyle, DogTipper.com and MSNBC.com. I’m also a frequent speaker at pet fairs throughout the Northeast on topics ranging from pet-friendly design to Canine CPR to traveling safely with pets.
