Bio

I am currently Campaign Director for Music for Dementia, a UK-wide campaign calling for music to be an integral part of care for everyone living with dementia. As a qualified music therapist I am a passionate voice for the power and value of music. I previously worked for the British Association for Music Therapy, advocating for the inclusion of music and music therapy across health, social care and educational systems. My early campaign experience was developed at the Music Manifesto, and Sing Up, the national programme to reinstate singing in primary schools across the UK. I have had a lifelong career in music, having initially trained as a professional bassoonist at The Guildhall, and I continue to play with orchestras across London. For the last decade I have worked as a qualified music therapist in a variety of health, social care and educational settings with children and adults across the lifespan, including a large London NHS Trust. My clinical experience includes autism and communication impairments, child development, mental health and learning disabilities.

As the spokesperson for Music for Dementia I am often interviewed live by mainstream broadcast, print and online outlets. Within the last three months I have appeared on BBC Breakfast, Sky News, BBC Radio 4 Women's Hour, BBC Radio 5Live, Talk Radio, Classic FM, Times Radio and BBC Radio 3 to name a few.
