I am a clinical psychologist licensed to practice in California and New York and have practiced independently in New York and Los Angeles. Previously, I worked as a staff psychologist, first at Columbia University Medical Center and then at the University of California, Los Angeles. I specialize in eating disorders/body image concerns, addictions, and mood/anxiety disorders. I also have a background in sport psychology and have been certified as a personal trainer since 1996.
I have a bachelor’s in psychology from Cornell University, a master’s in sport psychology from The University of North Caroline-Chapel Hill and a doctorate in clinical psychology from The George Washington University. I have presented locally and nationally on the topic of disordered eating, both at professional conferences and programs for the public. I published my master’s thesis on the effects of exercise on mood and my doctoral dissertation on sexual communication between new partners.
I have appeared on a number of media outlets on television, radio, online, and in print. I was featured on The Today Show, ABC News, and Dr. Oz. I have also been interviewed by The New York Times, Forbes, CBS Radio, and Fitness Magazine.
