Bio

Catherine A. Coleman (PhD, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign) is Professor and Department Chair in the Department of Strategic Communication, Bob Schieffer College of Communication, Texas Christian University. She has more than 20 years of professional, teaching, and research experience. Previously, she has worked as a market researcher for global and startup organizations and non-profits and continues to consult on a range of strategic projects.

Dr. Coleman has developed expertise in advertising, consumer culture and transformative consumer research.

Dr. Coleman is published in top academic journals such as the Journal of Advertising, Public Policy & Marketing, Journal of Macromarketing, Consumption, Markets & Culture, and others, as well as in various edited books. She is on the SeeHer education advisory board, working to improve the representation of gender in advertising. She teaches advertising, advertising and the consumer, ethics, global communication, a course on iconic brands and campaigns, and she is an active member of an entrepreneurship guild at her university, which informs her teaching.
