With nearly 25 years of experience leading projects and research for multiple NGOs and UN agencies in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, Dr. Caitlin Wyndam is one of the region’s leading experts in human trafficking, cooperation for development, poverty alleviation, and
disability policies and services.
For more than 18 years, Dr. Wyndham has contributed her knowledge and skills to advancing the mission of Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation, a prestigious NGO that has been leading the fight against human trafficking in Vietnam for over 20 years. Currently, Dr. Wyndham is Blue Dragon’s Research and Learning Leader. In this role, she oversees the organization’s research publications and knowledge products, which have shed light on human trafficking trends in Southeast Asia, the characteristics of human trafficking victims and perpetrators in Vietnam, the root causes driving their vulnerability to this crime and other important issues.
Dr. Wyndham’s expert commentary and research have been featured in publications such as The Telegraph and the South China Morning Post and cited in multiple academic research reports. She was one of the speakers at the inaugural TEDx Women conference in Hanoi.
She holds a Bachelor’s in History and Women’s Studies, a Master’s in Sociology, a Master’s in International and Community Development and a PhD in Public Policy from the European Central University. Her doctoral thesis focused on civil society and social movements in Vietnam.

Dr. Wyndham's specialties include human trafficking and organized crime (including trafficking for sexual exploitation in forced sex work and forced marriages, labor exploitation and child labor, and trafficking for forced criminality in cyber-scamming) and advocacy and engagement for survivors of human trafficking; advocacy and services such as vocational training for people with disabilities and other disadvantaged youth; international development policy, implementation and impact evaluation; research with a focus on social issues and social justice; and policy research and implementation. Dr. Wyndham has expert knowledge about these topics in Vietnam and Southeast Asia in particular.
